Fitness Healthy fitness in the body is a function of diet and exercise. Diet is a reference to all the things you eat, which includes all the things you do not eat. Diet has come to signify to many people not eating, or eating less. Nothing could be further from the truth. Diet is about how you eat, not how MUCH you eat. Relevant to FITNESS, what you eat is very important. Exercise is also very important. Many studies over the years have shown that people who exercise on a regular basis live longer more productive lives and tend to not get sick as often as people who do not exercise. They also have a healthier sex life with longer and more sustained sessions. Apparently there is a lot of truth to the saying that "marathon runners do it longer." Fitness is so important that there is a Presidential Council of Physical Fitness to make recommendations of policy to the President of the United States for helping Americans stay healthy and fit. |
